The Expert

La Costa Resort & Spa is known for providing world-renowned accommodations and service to their guests. In 2016, they saw an opportunity to improve how their wait staff fund

The Challenge

A server’s office is their person. In spite of this challenge, servers are left to their own devices when it comes to how they organize themselves, take an order at the table and then present themselves to guests.

How could La Costa’s world-class restaurants help their exceedingly professional wait staff perform even better at their jobs and enhance their guest experience?

What Needs to Be Done

01. Eliminate the use of check presentations and similar ill-suited methods waiters and waitresses traditionally use to “organize” themselves.

02. Provide servers with a powerful tool to help perform better by holding and organizing everything they are challenge to carry

03.Intergrade the new system into La Costa’s mandatory uniform standard.

The Solution

Job one, finding a better mousetrap then using the sloppy, disorganized and unprofessional check presenter as a server book. Fortunately for La Costa, Jim Myers, their Executive Director of Food and Beverage Operations, had considerable experience with the Waiter Wallet during his tenure as Hilton’s Senior Corporate Director of Food and Beverage.

The Original Waiter Wallet was brought on board and provided to every server. Now part of their uniform standard, servers were required to use the Waiter Wallet to take orders and organize their order pad, cash, credit card receipts, and countless other work necessities they must carry during their shift.

The Results

It didn’t take long for La Costa’s servers to take to the Waiter Wallet. Soon servers couldn’t imagine every working without this invaluable tool. Not only did their servers look much more professional but they became remarkable more organized and functional while performing their jobs.
And, if that wasn’t enough, by implementing Waiter Wallet’s Free Template system, the La Costa service staff knew more, sold more and provided an even more elevated standard of guest experience.

The Waiter Wallet significantly improved server functionality, organization, and the appearance of our serving staff. And, the training components helped us drive incremental revenues.

I love it

The whole reason I even bought this was because my boss said I couldn't keep my tips in my server book because I was touchin cash everytime I opened my book to take an order. The waiter wallet totally saved my ass on that one but also it has a slot so you can put a cheat sheet in. So now when a customer asks me how much extra it would be to put this or this in their food, I don't have to run and check. Its all right in front of me. And it fits great in my apron. Its perfect.

Pretty Cool!

I love. A co-worker showed me her Waiter Wallet and I was sold. I went with the original size but upgraded to the more durable material or Deluxe version. I also got the additional sleeve to add more cheat sheet info. I really like it. Makes me feel very professional and organized. I never write reviews but figured I should because its so much better then using the regular check books. Nice product.

Where has this thing been all my life?

This is awesome. I use it at both my server jobs. I completed 3 of the templates and those alone have saved me a lot of back and fourth to the bar.
